Benefits of Renewing Early

Members that complete their full renewal on or before April 30, 2023, will be entered to win one of the fantastic prizes shown below:

What is the deadline to pay my 2023 membership fees?

Membership fees are due to be paid on or before June 1, 2023.

Members who renew after June 1st are considered a Late Renewal. Please review the following information to learn more about Late Renewals:

  • The late renewal period is from June 2 - June 30, 2023.
  • Members that wish to renew late will see an additional $25 late fee plus GST and a 2% transaction fee (if paying by credit card) added to their invoice for membership.
  •  If you decide to pay after the June 1st deadline, please know that your member profile will be deactivated temporarily, and you will be required to provide full payment to the MTAA Admin Team by calling 403-340-1913.
  • Once payment is received and all steps of your renewal have been completed your profile will be reactivated. Please note that all steps of the renewal process must be completed by 4 PM on June 30th to avoid membership suspension.
  • Extensions past 4 PM on June 30, 2023, will not be provided.

What happens if I do not complete my renewal by the final deadline of June 30th?
Members who do not pay their fees by the final deadline of 4 PM June 30, 2023, will see their membership suspended. If this occurs your membership is no longer considered "IN GOOD STANDING" with the MTAA. If suspended, active members are not covered for professional and commercial general liability, and if applicable,  adjunct coverage to practice. If members continue to practice once suspended they will likely see their direct billing disabled and they will find that health benefit providers reject treatments.

How can I reactivate (reinstate) my suspended membership?

To reinstate, members must pay the current reinstatement fee of $150 plus GST and their membership dues (a
2% transaction fee will be added for payment with a credit card), as well as meet any outstanding requirements before reactivation can be processed. Suspended members must reach out to the MTAA Admin Team to review all requirements before reinstatement can occur. We require 2 business days to process all reinstatement requests.

Please note that health benefit providers are notified of all suspensions and their records are adjusted to reflect the change in membership status. Members may find that there is additional work to update each benefit provider once reinstated. The MTAA is not responsible for any issues that this may cause, however, we are happy to work with members to complete the process of reinstatement.

Can I pay my 2023 membership fees with a payment plan?
Payment plans may be provided for those individuals that contact the MTAA office directly at 403-340-1913. Members who request a payment plan will be subject to a $25 payment plan fee and 2% transaction fees if payment is provided with a credit card. Please note that all membership fees must be paid in full no later than June 30, 2023.

What if I want to pay by e-transfer?
Members that wish to pay for their membership fees via e-transfer must contact the MTAA office directly to confirm the process and the email that funds are to be sent. Members that wish to provide payment by e-transfer are required to complete all steps of the renewal process which include the completion of renewal documents.

What if I want to pay by cheque, money order or cash?
Please note that any renewal payments by cheque, money order or cash MUST be accompanied by the hard copy renewal application, which can be obtained by contacting the office. All payments by cheque, money order or cash MUST be received at the MTAA office prior to the payment due date to avoid late fees and/or disruption in your membership.  The MTAA is not responsible for any mail that is lost or received past the deadline.
