Job Description:  Massage Therapist

Salary:

Hourly: $35.00 - $50.00  Per hour

Anticipate Start Date:  February 1, 2021

Terms of Employment:           Permanent

Employment Conditions:        30 hours per week consisting of Days, Evenings and weekends

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages:         English

Education:         Graduation from a 2200 hour Alberta Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy School or a similar 2200 hour Advanced Clinical massage Therapy Training program in another Canadian jurisdiction that will be eligible for Alberta licensure.

Credentials:       Graduation from a program that meets the above criteria and eligible for registration as a Massage Therapist in Alberta.
                          Successful completion of Alberta accreditation Process for Registration as a Registered Massage Therapist.
                           Must show proof or professional practice liability insurance.

Experience:       Work experience in a Multidisciplinary, Chiropractic, Clinical setting performing Therapeutic Massage.

Work Setting:  Private practice

Specific Skills:     Assess patients’ physical abilities, perform orthopedic tests to determine the necessary Massage therapeutic interventions; Plan therapeutic treatment plans; Select appropriate stretches or exercises; Maintain clinical and progress reports; Create Medical-Legal reports; Confer with other Health care professionals and collaborate combined treatment programs

                                Therapist must be willing to perform the necessary preparations of their Massage rooms between patients and assistance required laundry.

Physically demanding, Hand –eye coordination; Combination of Standing, sitting, walking; Standing for extended periods; Bending, crouching, kneeling, assisting patients off table;  Fast-paced environment; Attention to Detail; work under pressure
