MPS Pain and Scar Release for Massage Therapy
This course integrates the science of acupuncture points and modern neurology, applying them to the concept of scar release. The influence that scars, adhesions and traumas have on the nervous system, which in turn present as pain throughout the body will be presented.
The scientific concepts of stress, vagal tone and neuromodulation in massage therapy will be discussed in length.
The basis of how acupressure, acupuncture, physical therapy and massage influence and regulate the body's nervous systems will be examined.
Key spinal, distal, local and influential acupressure/acupuncture points will be identified and located in practicum. Energetic flows will be assessed and correlated to fascia patterns to develop protocols for back and neck pain.
Participants will have the opportunity to anatomically locate and treat physical scars and key acu-trigger points with manual techniques and acupressure tools. Protocols will be demonstrated on participants.
Contraindications for treatment will be addressed throughout the course.
